WINDOWS TO IPHONE SYNC

when i try to sync to the iphone, changes i have made on the iphone get overwritten by the pc database. i have tried the default settings and also "iphone wins" no dice.
any ideas. i suspect it is writing the db anew each time to the phone, but i am not sure why

Hi there,

Thanks for your post. When we sync, there is a log kept with details. A 'View log' button should bring up the log and you should be able to find the info for the database in question there. It may provide some clues or context to why this is happening for you. If you'd like to copy/paste the relevant sections here I'd be happy to take a look and see what could be going on!

thank you for looking at this. log below, with my comments. i am sure i am doing something wrong but not sure what.. i am using the default sync settings.
the test is
1. change a date record on the iphone
2. close the iphone db
3. reopen iphone db and confirm the change
4. close the iphone db.
5. sync
6. open iphone db to look for change.

--------------------------my comments--- this is the database i changed. i changed one date field on the iphone and confirmed the change by closing the db and reopenning.
--------------------------upon finishing the sync. i looked at the db record and found it now reflected the value from the pc database

i have tried multiple approaches including "iphone overrides pc" and in all cases the pc overwrites changes on the iphone.

does anybody have any suggestions? and yes, i am running the latest version of the desktop software

Thanks for posting your log and for your patience. When I looked at your log I noticed that the database in question has a 'sister' database- Appliances (note the capital A) that has a shared entry:

While in theory they should not interfere with each other on iOS, I don't believe the same can be said for Windows, where the file system may not be case sensitive. I am wondering if it's this database that is being installed/overwriting the mobile version. Could you try removing that shared entry and seeing if that makes a difference?

Bingo!. i should have seen that, thank you. it started with my trying out shared databases. if i figure out the exact mistake i made, i will let you know. but this does solve my basic issue in using this software which i have come to like quite abit. it is elegant.
