switch between views on the same dataset

Postby rmuetze » Sat Aug 27, 2011 10:24 am

Hello,

you can change the field settings based on view. e.g. you can have different views on the same dataset:

- "details" with a reduced set of fields
- "all" with all set of fields

I tried to configure a "button" to switch from one view to another view on the same dataset (by a datatype link), but without success. Do you have any recommendation on this?

Kind regards, rm

Hello,

Thanks for writing. After designing your custom views, while in record list view (table) you will be able to switch between them by tapping the button at the bottom of the screen and choosing the one you want to work with in the list.

Hello Brian_Houghton,

as I understand, your solution works from the list view only. But I require this in the record view. It is quite cumbersome when you are in the record view, go back to list view, select the appropriate list view, go into record view again ... In WinCE this was done by forms. My hope was to have a work around on android.

hm, the request for "forms" in "What Feature do you most want to see in HanDBase for Android" could be a solution. Many handbase-ler asked for this and - with out beeing annoying - you have one more who would like to have this feature (3 votes already) ;-)

Hello,

The arrangement of fields in views does carry over from list view to edit view. You are correct that forms aren't currently supported. All the votes of interest we can receive there definitely help build up user interest!
