Features of the New Forums

I just wanted to make you aware of a few features we've added to the forums.
1. Daily and Weekly Digests- if you've come over from our previous Yahoo group you may really appreciate this one. This option lets you get a daily or weekly email containing all or some of the postings on the forums. Easy way to stay up to date without having to come to the site to check in. And you can pick the forum categories that interest you as well! Here's how you enable this option:
At the top under the DDH Logo, you'll see User Control Panel. Click this option
Choose the tab labeled Digests and choose the preferences you desire for your digest.
Please note, you must register to use these features, as they are not available to guests.
2. RSS feeds. For those who use RSS readers like My Yahoo! or Google Reader, you can subscribe to a feed of posts for each category or all categories. To do so, go to the section of interest in your browser (ie, browse the forums until you are in the category or level you'd like to include). Then in your browser bar you should see some type of icon indicating that the page has an RSS feed. In Firefox, for example, there is a blue icon with what looks like a transmission signal. If you click that, you're given some options to subscribe to the feed. Choose the one that is most appropriate for you.
If you're interested in copying the link for this feed into an RSS reader, you can do it like this:
http://www.ddhsoftware.com/forum/rss.php?f=6
The last part of that link (the f=x) is the topic number. To find out what topic you are in, go to it in the forum and look at the link, you'll see the same f=x in there, and replace x for whatever number you see.
3. Interested in a particular topic/conversation or a specific topic and want an instant email when someone posts to it? You can do that as well. When you are signed in, at the bottom of each page is an option that shows a checkbox and has a link that says 'subscribe'. The checkbox is misleading as it should be unchecked at this point since you're not subscribed. But barring that human interface issue, if you click the link, you'll be subscribed, and now you'll see an option to unsubscribe in it's place. Now when someone posts in this topic or category, you will get an email notifying you of it.
