In years prior we always sold HanDBase as a complete package, including the Desktop, Conduits, and the device applications. Often we'd hear of customers wanting to buy just the device licenses and we realized that not everyone syncs with a desktop on every device. For this reason, we separated the products and made it such that the desktop add-ons are not a required purchase. This has the effect of lowering the cost for those who don't need the desktop software.
That being said, there is a lot of utility that can be had by using the Plus, Professional, or Enterprise add-ons. This includes:
A desktop program for entering data, exporting/importing to CSV format, and more.
A conduit to automate the sync/backup process from the device.
Optional (depending on the package) additional conduits for syncing to Microsoft Access and more.
